Babydoll Sheep originated in the South Down hill of Sussex County, England, and in the late 1700s, the breed standard was drafted. When these small sheep arrived in America in 1803, they were crossbred with local larger species. Babydoll Sheep measure less than 24 inches at the shoulder, and some species are less than 20 inches tall. Babydoll Sheep have pathetic teddy-bear faces, short curly coat, which is irreplaceable in wool industry, and a very gentle disposition.
