According to the purpose, goats are divided into two groups: Dairy goats (raised for milk) and Pygmy goat (raised for show.) Males are referred to as "bucks," and females are called "does." There are six species of Dairy goats: Nubians, LaManchas, Alpines, Oberhaslis, Togenburgs and Saanens. Pygmy goats are smaller in size, and they can also produce milk and meat, but they are more common as show goats, and they make good family companions.
